Aquatic Integration

aquatic_integrationAquatic Integration, developed by Cameron West, is a new approach to hydrotherapy which combines eastern meridian and point work with myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and breathwork.

Aquatic Integration is highly effective in restoring sensory perception and motor control as well as increasing range of motion and reducing muscular spasticity and has proven a profoundly effective tool in pain management.

The practitioner may use holds or a soft collar and leg floats to achieve the most comfortable and effective positioning. This allows both client and therapist to be in a state of complete relaxation. It also gives the therapist the ability to use both hands for connection, palpation and mobilization.

PHILOSOPHY OF AQUATIC INTEGRATION™ (AI)

In self-inquiry…if you concentrate deeply... you will find out that you're only nature and not the Self

Aquatic Integration is a technique based on the practice that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves when allowed to recognize the potential for movement and alignment in the physical, emotional and spiritual realms.

Movement and touch are integral to our survival and well-being

  • Concentrated movement reconnects the mind to the body, the conscious to the subconscious and the individual to his environment
  • Healing touch and movements evoke a pathway to inward noticing
  • Inward noticing toward insight and expanded consciousness

Trust forms and informs the inner knowing

  • The inner knowing leads to transformative restoration
  • Physical transformation stimulates self-actualization
  • Transformation can be stimulated at any level of being
  • Transformation at any level of being affects all levels of being

The Practitioner ~ Client Relationship

  • To communicate through words, touch and energy an environment of safety and trust
  • To be in a state of service and mindful gratitude
  • To have patience, promote respectful pacing
  • To maintain a healthy relationship toward the clients experience
  • To not project, judge or assume their experience
  • Staying open and clear can empower the client to actualize their own healing
"What you give, and what you receive, are reflections of each other.
Life is either resistance or surrender.  These are your choices.
Resistance leads to suffering.  Surrender leads to bliss.
Truth always brings sanity.
Take time to be with your experience."
~Paul Ferrini~
